Where It All Happens

Location Location Location !

Join us on the Southern Caribbean side of Costa Rica at our main production HQ at Punta Uva, or on location on the Pacific Coast at Drake's Bay or Cabo Matapalo - the jewels of the Osa Peninsula - and the site of numerous Discovery, Animal Planet and National Geographic programs.  All three locations provide unsurpassed and distraction-free access to the scenic beauties of  protected wilderness refuges and an unbelievable variety of easy-to-see wildlife.  On the cultural level both areas boast a rich mix of indigenous Indian, Afro-Caribbean and peoples of Spanish descent, not to mention a small but distinct population of European and North American residents.

  • Primary virgin rainforests - uncrowded reserves and protected zones
  • Pristine, remote beaches - from black sand to white sand, with seas that range from glassy to world class surf, to stormy and dramatic.
  • Wildlife - one of the world's richest, bio-diverse habitats for monkeys, sloths, reptiles, birds, butterflies and insects

    Southern Caribbean

Our offices are located 3 minutes walk from the picture perfect beach of  Punta Uva in the southern Caribbean region of Talamanca, 3 miles south of the buzzy, surfing and rasta flavored town of Puerto Viejo, and just 12 miles away from world famous Cahuita National Park. Although the area has been designated a Tourist Zone by the Costa Rica Tourist Board (ICT), you won't find a single condo or Marriott type hotel for 100 miles.  Why? because residents and local slow-growth organizations have kept it that way, and it suits us! However, there's no shortage of local color and energy, and within 30 minutes of our studio you can be on location exploring and filming at any one of a dozen incredible locations - and you won't have to worry about permits, crews, transport or equipment - it will have all been arranged by your designated MAC CR Production Manager.

    Osa Peninsula
If you're looking for unique, remote and drop-dead gorgeoous, then this is the place for you.  Just getting here is a challenge if you aren't travelling with Moving Arts! There are no roads on the northwestern side to Drakes Bay, so its a small plane from San Jose, a 20 minute 4WD ride to the beach where you'll be picked up for another 15 minute boat ride to the Lodge beach, then a 15 minute hike up to your cabin.  At our southern Cabo Matapalo location, there is a "road" in, but its 45 minutes from the nearest town, and there's no electricity when you get there.  Hey, if it was easy, anyone could do it!
