SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS
Each season we offer one Scholarship - a two-week program free of charge (other than transportation in and out of Costa Rica). To qualify you must be a full-time or part-time film/communications/graphics arts student, or have a minimum 2 years experience working in the video/film/travel industry. Submit your request for application to us at scholarships@movingarts.com. Submissions will be judged on the most creative concept/proposal and production plan, as well as on financial and academic merit.
We also offer a free two-week program Howler Award for the best Student film of the year, which can be redeemed by the winner at a future date (within a year of Award) or transferred as a gift. In addition we run annual Awards for Best Student Cinematography, Script and Direction whch can be redeemed for two free shoot or edit production days at a future date, within a year of award. We also advise on placement of winning films for industry recognition for projects of particular merit see www.cinequest.org/2004/ for example.

Arrival at Punta Uva Lodge after 3PM Day Before Program Commences - 7:30PM Dinner/Orientation:
Day 1: Morning - Pre-production: Storyboards/Scripting and Project Planning
Afternoon - Shoot: till 5:30 at one of these locations - your choice of Gandoca-Manzanillo Reserve, Cahuita Natl. Park, Puerto Viejo, Kekoldi Indian Resreve, Punta Uva Refugio
Evening - Selects and digitize
Day 2: Post: Morning: Audio/Graphics
Afternoon/Evening: Hi-res rough-cut Video Edit, and Dub to DV, BetaSP or DVD
Total Program Cost Includes:
- All Ground Transportation roundtrip San Jose Intl. Airport or Caribe Bus Station San Jose
and All Ground Transportation while On Location in Southern Caribbean
- 3 Nights Lodge Accomodations (Private Room with Shower) in Punta Uva

- All Production Costs including:
Staff - Choice of 2 professional instructors/field crew: Cinematographer, Audio Technician, Lighting Technician, Director. Video Editor/Graphics Director incl. All English speaking.

5 Night/4 Day Pioneer Program
Roll tape in the rainforest!
The 4 day Pioneer Program is the perfect introduction to a wider understanding of the area, as well as providing enough time to plan and execute a location shoot and edit in Costa Rica!

Day 1: Morning - Pre-production, Storyboards/Scripting and Project Planning

9 Night/8 Day Adventurer Program
Remember the last time we worked together? This is it....!
The 8 day Adventurer Program is ideal for people who want to get to grips with a subject, but don't have a lot of time to spare. You can mix and match your shoot and edit time to see what will work best for your project, and still come out with a finished product or all the elements to take it further.

6 week Masters Program
This is our most intensive Long Program, and will take you from storyboard to digital master in just 6 weeks. It's a comprehensive "how-to" experience in the tropics, that will provide you a solid grounding for your future media endeavors, as well as as unforgettable adventure in Costa Rica.
